"God will not look you over for medals, degrees or diplomas, but for scars." -Elbert Hubbard
The most amazing thing ever happened at a bar in cincinnati this weekend. This older man came up to me after standing at the jukebox lurkin for a minute. The Neil Young song "Cowgirl in the Sand" starts playing, and he tells me "Babydoll, I had to play this song for you, because you seem to be exactly what Neil had in mind when writing it." I basically melted into the ground, told him he picked the perfect girl to use that line on, and contemplated marrying him for the rest of the evening. Player skillz.
I want to give you trillions of hugs and kisses. Sometimes you make me really sad, even in funny movies. I don't know why that is. Please stop it. You are much cuter than Luke, and your nose makes me melt. I'm not even grossed out by the rumor that you kiss hookers on the mouth.
First things First: I am now a Licensed Driver. My little brother's friends take my life hostage sometimes.
"A child of the nineteenth century would quickly go mad with fear, I think, in the world of today. It must have been pretty wonderful to have lived in the years, say, between 1870 and 1914, when peace was the normal condition and people really were appalled at the idea of war, and believed there'd never be a big one. A big one was impossible, they used to say. It would cost too much. It would disrupt world trade and bankrupt everybody. Even after the first World War people didn't accept war as normal. They had to call it the War to End War or we wouldn't have fought it. Helen, what has become of us?" - - Alas, Babylon
As a sidenote...I really can't wait to see this movie:
Visitors. Visitors. Visitors. Visitors. Visitors. slumber party. good will hunting. the duel II.
"The joy of life consists in the exercise of one's energies, continual growth, constant change, the enjoyment of every new experience. To stop means simply to die. The eternal mistake of mankind is to set up an attainable ideal." -Aleister Crowley
I got to help the four women that sew the Kentucky Derby Rose blanket on Friday.
I'm making moneys. driving trucks. eating deer steaks.
Nathan and his friends that he is on tour with are coming to stay with me Thursday night. I am so excited. We are going to see the new Star Trek movie. Yayyyyy.
Two facts:
1) The internet is one of the most frustrating tools of all time ever, find out way too many things you don't care/want to ever know.
2) No matter how old you get, it always feels amazing when a basketball court full of high school boys stops the game to ask "Hey cutie you got a boyfriend?"
1. sunshine absorption (aka. lots a lake time) 2. driving 3. planting and gardening 4. creating and mending clothing 5. bbqing 6. planning and writing 7. rewatching twin peaks over and over
current likes: - jello pudding cups - getting to wear shorts again - ohio yard sales - crushin' from far away - videochatcideochatvideochatvideochat
current dislikes: - rain - madmen season 3 not starting til August - job hunting - no date for the Star Trek movie premiere - the fact that pools aren't open yet and I have a wonderful new bathing suit
"People do what they want to, every time. If it pains them to make a choice -- if the choice looks like a "sacrifice" -- you can be sure that it is no nobler than the discomfort caused by greediness...the necessity of deciding between two things you want when you can't have both. The ordinary bloke suffers every time he chooses between spending a buck on beer or tucking it away for his kids, between getting up to go to work or losing his job. But he always chooses what hurts least or pleasures most. The scoundrel and the saint make the same choices on a larger scale." (256)
Nashville was amazing. an absolute blast. Whenever I go there I always feel at home. It is certainly in the running for places to live after Kentucky.
I have to find a date for the opening night of the new Star Trek movie.
My trip back to atlanta was a time of greatness and long laughs. While realizing that I won't probably ever return there to live, some of the people I left behind own very large pieces of my heart.
shots of whiskey. dancing on tables. wooly bully. high school boy hangouts. waffle house. jason. metallica guitar hero. snuggles. laughs. laughs. laughs. laughs.
I cannot wait for the remake of Grey Gardens. The original basically makes me want to sit around singing with my mom in a house full of cats while wearing makeshift capes and fabulous jewelry all day long. Their daily arguments and performances are probably the most endearing thing I have ever seen.
"Two women can't live together for twenty years without some jealousy. Not that my voice is better than Mother's, but she can't dance." - Little Edie
Little Edie basically owns me heart forever. What is your favorite department store? "May's, although I haven't been there yet."
Not to mention, my already insane love for Drew Barrymore is going to grow exponentially whenever I get to see the remake.
Ugggggggggh. Will someone please buy me this reproduction of her brooch:
